Catalina chamber to Publish new Activity Map of Avalon

Wayne G. Griffin, ACE, President and chief Executive Officer of the Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce, announced last week that the Chamber will publish a new Activity Map of Avalon to replace its Welcome Map. Trends Media Group (TMG), has produced the maps for communities in Beverly Hills, Old Pasadena, West Hollywood and Downtown Long Beach, and has now been hired to produce Catalina's.

The Chamber's Activity map of Avalon is intended to help visitors quickly pinpoint the location of Chamber member businesses offering dining, shopping, and other activities and services. Other types of businesses may find it useful for directing visitors to their doorstep and public facilities.

The Chamber plans to produce 100,000 copies of the new Activity Map. The map will be distributed free at all mainland transportation terminals and at the Chamber's Visitor Center on the Green Pier in Avalon.

"We offer these maps as a service to our visitors and our local businesses," commented Mr. Griffin. "They're easy to read, easy to carry, and especially helpful to people who may spend just a few hours here and need to find their way around quickly."

TMG's maps are produced in full color on glossy paper, illustrate buildings on city blocks and locate participating businesses by building number as well as grid coordinates. This makes it easy for map users to find a specific business location.

Heading up the project for TMG is Jeff Leit. Trends Media Group has been publishing local area Walking Maps since 1994. TMG's maps are featured at over 80 hotels in the Los Angeles area.
